As a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Steese Immediate Care, Johanna provides occupational medicine, urgent care services, and primary care to patients throughout Fairbanks, AK. Those services include treating minor illnesses and injuries, treating work related conditions, return to work exams, and preventative measures to keep patients safe and healthy.
Johanna has always had a love of learning and works hard to stay up to date with the latest developments and best practice recommendations in order to provide safe and effective care to her patients. She maintains membership with several professional associations including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association, the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners, and the Alaska Nurse Practitioners Association.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Alvernia University in Reading, Pennsylvania in 2008. Johanna enjoyed eleven fulfilling years in hospital settings in various specialties including emergency care, pain management, PICC team, labor & delivery, neonatal intensive care, quality management, and hospital supervisor. She then obtained a Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue University and holds a national certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a family nurse practitioner. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and has specialized in primary care, home health risk assessments, compensation and benefits exams, and addiction medicine.
When Johanna is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. She also enjoys volunteering and serving her church and community.
